Libations

There are 36 Wineries, Cideries, Distilleries, and Breweries in the Adirondacks Region. Our favorites are listed below…

Adirondack Winery

Adirondack Winery - Queensbury

The main production facility and tasting room in Queensbury is where it all happens. Not only can you taste their numerous wines at the facility, tour the winery, and for all of you who have a sweet tooth there is another surprise - Wine Ice Cream!

Rolling Hills Estate Winery - Westport

This is a beautiful winery right on Lake Champlain. The lake helps the growing season and the soil helps to make this one of the best wineries in the ADK’s. Colder climate varietals that you don’t see anywhere else in NY do well here, like St. Croix, Marquette, and Sabrevois. The wines are great and you can eat, drink, and stay on the property.

Grindstone Island Winery

Grindstone Island Winery - Grindstone Island

We like when there is a great story to go along with a great wine. The pedigree for the winemaker here, Dominic Carisetti, is pretty impressive. Senior winemaker at Taylor and Great Western wineries in the FLX, then Manager of Wine making for Canandaigua Wines (which is now Constellation Brands, one of the largest winemaking companies in the world). Now he makes the wines at a small winery on one of the 1000 Islands. They make the standards of Chardonnay, Reisling, and Baco Noir, but they also have a Tawny Red with Marquette, Baco Noir, and Frontenac - some great cold climate Reds. You have to go here in the summer because the winery is truly on an island, but the trip there is part of the charm of the experience.
